[Non-traditional] Bhakti Yoga (begins 4/26)
".... using yin asanas and sound to provide gentle vibrations for our muscular skeleton and nervous system. Longer postures with deep breath work and invitations to slowly vocalize sounds, offer space to engage in what my colleague calls making love to yourself as yoga. Props are available to assist for optimum comfort and attune participants with modified positions as needed."
Social Dreaming (beginning 5/3)
"Exploring the boundaries of imagination and daydreams, guided meditation is used to bring participants to a relaxed state where they are invited to use all senses to describe what arises to this dream space. Gently transitioning in silence, art materials are offered to externalize this dreamwork with the option to share about their experience"

Sacred Unfolding: a 6 week art, movement and mindfulness series
(Coming July 2024 @ Community Herbs)
Sacred Unfolding is a six week series exploring methods of creative art as healing and reflection augmented by movement, breathwork and meditation. Certified art therapist and yoga teacher, Remedy, will begin each class with a mindfulness or a centering practice. Participants then will receive a series of prompts for playful exploration based on the weekly theme where they will be encouraged to reflect through bodily movement and process further in a creative form using mediums they've brought or found at the studio. Art is a process of internal inquiry, not an end visual result.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own journals or desired art supplies. However, some basic art materials will be available including magazines, scissors and glue, plus a range of color pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, mixed media paper, clay, fabric pieces, yarn and beads.
The workshops will explore these themes for self inquiry:
Week 1: Roots: What are our roots of rest? Where do we need restoration? This practice will focus on deep rest, offering grounding and breathwork to build the foundation of returning to the sacred in our lives.
Week 2: Sanctuary: This week will focus on identifying our sacred spaces, shaping where we find sanctuary with guided meditation and visual exercise to honor your place of sanctuary. To cultivate feelings of safety, what permeates the boundaries of your sacred bubble and what do we leave outside of it?
Week 3: Atonement: What requires attention in order for repair and healing to occur? This week will focus on introspection of our wounds, our scars and the practice of surrender using folding postures and heart opening asanas followed by journaling.
Week 4: Resurrection: Once we let go of what no longer serves us, what new roots can grow and teach us about the strength of our bodies? Using partner yoga, we will explore the support of being in relation to others on the journey of rebirth.
Week 5: Growth : Discover aliveness as the winter draws to a close, what intentions do we set for these buds that are drawing forth out of the dark, fertile ground? This practice will involve earth salutations and a visioning process to imagine all our possibilities as we approach Spring time..
Week 6: Blossoming: In this last week, we culminate the series by noticing the energies we have awakened. Here we are invited to call forth the Goddess within, using yoni mudras (symbolic of feminine power with hand gestures) and improvisational dance. A group art activity may be offered.
